CAPTAIN ALEX EDWARDS
41-year-young Captain Alex Edwards and his team have captured numerous championship titles including the overall win in the 2007 Bisbee’s Black & Blue and the 2008 International Governor’s Cup tournament. While among one of the youngest captains to earn back-to-back overall championship wins, Edwards is no stranger to sportfishing success.
For the past 24 years Edwards has navigated global waters in the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian oceans, as well as fished in intercoastal waterways/waters throughout Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, California, Mexico, Puerto Vallarta, Ixtapa, Mazatlan, Straights of Sumatra, Mentawei Islands, and other locations. In addition, Edwards has outfitted more than 30 sportfishing yachts and successfully served as crew and captain of a number of 100-ton vessels, earning numerous placements and awards in tournaments including the Avalon Billfish Classic – 5th place (2006); Bisbee’s Black and Blue Release Division – 2nd place (2005); Zane Grey Marlin Tournament – 5th place (both 2003, and 2005), and Mission Bay Heart Charity Marlin Tournament – 1st place (2001). |

TEAM MEMBER DEREK ROTHWELL
Derek Rothwell, a notable angler for the Angel & The Badman II fishing team, has been an outdoorsman his entire life. Growing up in south-west Virginia, Derek spent all of his formative years learning to bow hunt and fish the land, lakes and rivers of the region. He's fished throughout the western hemishpere, spending time in the freshwater lakes of the United States and Canada fishing for striped, large and small mouth bass. His passion for the outdoors has taken him to the north-west rivers for trout and salmon and to the inside passage of Vancouver Island where the Pacific salmon are abundant. His journeys continued to the Florida keys poling the flats hunting for tarpon, permit and bonefish; to Costa Rica catching sailfish and marlin, and, of course to Los Cabos, Mexico for the many species of game fish that call the Baja home. Derek, an Electrical Engineer by trade, prides himself as being a conservationist and preservationist. He now resides on Sanibel Island, Florida with his family spending countless hours fishing the Gulf waters for tarpon, snook, grouper, shark and many of the other game fish species found in the region. |

TEAM MEMBER GARY LOHR 44 year-old Gary Lohr calls North Carolina home but you'll find him on both the east and west coasts of the States fishing in a variety of tournaments. He's been a team member since 2007 and is consistently one of our top anglers. Gary's hooked and landed Black, Blue and Striped Marlin and held the Virginia state record for Big Eye tuna as well. Add several 'giant' Bluefin Tuna to his list of catches and you've got a man that likes to pull on fish... hard!
With Gary's extensive knowledge of both inshore and offshore fisheries, we've got every intention of putting him in the fighting chair often... hopefully he'll pull in a winner or two! |

ALTERNATE TEAM MEMBER HORACE BARGE
Ask any boat Captain out there, and they'll tell you it sure is nice having another pro Captain aboard, and that's one thing that makes Horace Barge a go-to guy for us here on the Badman. Horace brings some pretty intense cockpit skills to the table, and as a Berkely Pro, he always seems to have a few tricks up his sleeve.
Horace is currently running a 48' Cabo that makes port in San Diego and Cabo so we just might end up going head-to-head against him this season. If we do, we wish him luck. But, if we get to have him on our side, we wish all the other teams the best of luck.... they're going to need it! |

ALTERNATE TEAM MEMBER DAVE TRIMBLE
Captain Dave Trimble runs a charter fishing operation out of Dana Landing here in San Diego where he specializes in saltwater fly-fishing... especially for big So. Cal. Mako sharks! Dave fished with us as a team member during the 2008 Intl. Governor's Cup in Cabo San Lucas and the man can just flat-out fish. Since Dave runs his own show, we not always lucky enough to have him on the Badman, but when we do, it's like icing on the cake.
