TEAM ANGEL & THE BADMAN II TAKES THIRD PLACE IN 2009 IGFA OFFSHORE CHAMPIONSHIP
The 2009 IGFA Offshore Championship may have been won by Oscar Daccarett and the team from the World Championship Billfish Release Tournament held in Cabo in 2008, but Angel & The Badman II wasn't far behind. In fact, the team took 5th place honors while Captain Alex Edwards took 3rd place angler honors.
The team qualified for the invitation only event by winning the International Governor's Cup Tournament held in Cabo San Lucas in 2008. Anglers Jose Albanjo, Horace Barge, Alex Edwards, Steve Hewitt, Richard Mott and Mick Thompson didn't see a fish on the first two days of the tournament, but they made up for it on the final two days. The team caught three striped marlin and a 32-pound dorado on Day Three and released four more striped marlin on the final day to bring their total to 2,132 points. In doing so, the International Governor's Cup team edged out last year's champs by just three points.

TEAM ANGEL & THE BADMAN II WINS INTERNATIONAL GOVERNOR'S CUP IN CABO SAN LUCAS
The Team took top honors 2008 at the 2008 International Governor's Cup Tournament, right in the middle of the Swine Flu scare and the tumble of worldwide financial markets. While the fears of Swine Flu and stock market crashes caused a great number of teams to cancel participation, nine teams and forty-nine anglers took part in the event. Coming out on top with 10 qualified striped marlin releases.... the crew aboard Angel & The Badman II. They not only took the tournament's top honors, they also qualified for the prestigious 2009 IGFA Offshore Championship - a tournament that only winners of qualifying events from around the world are invited to participate in.
Team members included: Capt. Alex Edwards, vessel owner Richard Mott, Derek Rothwell, Steve Hewitt, Horace Barge and Dave Trimble. All told, they actually caught and released 10 striped marlin off the coast of Cabo San Lucas at the famed Golden Gate Bank. Highlights from aboard Angel & The Badman II are viewable in a three part video series that you'll find in our PHOTOS/VIDEOS section of the site.

GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY
All of us on Team Angel & The Badman II realize just how fortunate we are to have the opportunty to do what we do - on and off the water. We also realize that there are many good people and organizations out there that don't have it so good. That's why we choose to take part in fund raising events aimed at bettering the lives of those in need.
One of the organizations we've chosen to support is the Hospice of Amador and Calaveras in Northern California. The Hospice provides quality end-of-life services to patients and families residing primarily in Amador & Calaveras Counties. Their ability to provide quality services is wholly dependent on the support of the community and the financial contributions of charitable donors.
In an effort to help support them, Team Angel & The Badman II donates a 5 day/4 night Cabo San Lucas sport fishing vacation package that includes
a stay on the yacht or resort plus sport fishing with Capt. Alex Edwards at the helm. Last year we helped raise over $50,000 as a result and we look forward to hosting another raffle winner in 2010.

SERVING THOSE WHO SERVED
This year will mark the start of a program that we're very proud of. We'll be donating a trip aboard Angel & The Badman II to some truly deserving individuals... brave members of the U.S. Armed Forces who sacrificed their own safety for the protection of us all. Members of the Military Order of the Purple Heart will have the chance to come aboard our yacht where they'll be given first-class treatment as guest anglers. We see it as the least we can do to show our undying appreciation for their service to our country and it's citizens.... and who can argue with that?
If you'd like
to get involved, visit the Military Order of the Purple Heart online and do what you can to show your gratitude and respect for these heros.
